The fleece will be teased, carded and spun into yarn. The weaving and dying process will be explained.
Greet Summer and experience the fun of life on the frontier. Games, contests, and children's toys will be emphasized. The herbalist will lecture on herbs & their uses. The herb garden is in full bloom. The use of herbs in cooking will be emphasized.
A short skit, "Serving the Writ," in which the first shots of the rebellion are fired . . . performances at 2:00 & 3:00 p.m.
The process of turning the flax plant into linen cloth will be demonstrated.
Summer chores are demonstrated.

The Eighth Pennsylvania Regiment will set up camp on the grounds and re-enact the day-to-day life of the Revolutionary soldier.
Young soldiers will be recruited & drillled.
Displays of rifles and weaponry.
Children can try their hands at various frontier crafts such as tin punching, corn crafts, games, butter churning.
Tussie-mussies will be sold.
Come see the Homestead at dusk with candles and laterns lighting your way.
Hot cider and cookies will be sold.
A traditional meal for the Miller family will be prepared at the open hearth, bake oven: an 18th century frontier feast will be on display
Celebrate the Scots Irish heritage of the Millers with Highland dancing.
